Golf Tips

If only I knew these tips at day one !




Did you know that according to leading experts, 60% of any game skill is mental conditioning and only 40% is actually the knowledge of how to play the game.
This can be seen across many sports, just do an internet search and you will find many reliable studies.
You truly get what you focus on.



Watch the way winners stand, act and look so confident before a game. Then watch the end of another competition, and see who won. Then watch the beginning and see if they had already won before the very first swing, its in there eyes, facial expression and stance !


Condition your brain !

“I am a good golfer,” I am a good golfer” “I am a good golfer”

It is probably no surprise that just repeating a mantra does not work. It is necessary to add many angles to a mantra, to reinforce it and make it an effective method of improving your game. 

For example repeating this while closing your eyes and visualising a specific shot.
For me I am on the first Tee, a 220m straight drive needed. If I hit 200m I am in the bunker.

If I slice the ball I am in a bad place, with a buggy path and deep rough.
If I draw left I am fine, but I have a natural swing to the right, so thats my worry.

So I visualise a great strike with my Big Bertha, using a high Tee, I see it land 220m straight on a real hole I play. But this swing is in my Head playing the shot while saying I am a good Golfer. 

This works 70% OF THE TIME IN MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE.

  1. USE POSITIVE MANTRAS.
  2. STAY FOCUSED.
  3. RELAX. LEAVE THE PROBLEMS AT HOME OR IN THE OFFICE.
  4. USE MENTAL IMAGES.
  5. SET REALISTIC GOALS, PRO GOLFERS PRACTICE EVERY DAY. NOT ONCE A MONTH ON THE DRIVING RANGE !
  6. BREATH SLOW AND STEADY
